We are a passionate team dedicated to empowering women to achieve their full economic potential. Together we inspire both women and men to become advocates, change makers and leaders in their community.

Founder and Directorr

Elva Rebecca Ondiek

Rebecca Ondiek is the Founder and Director of Armstrong Women Empowerment Centre, based in a small village known as Rabuor, in Kenya. She became the first female founder of an Empowerment Centre for women in her village, with an aim of supporting skills and talents that would create income generating activities to help reduce poverty level in my village. Rebecca, hopes to make her dreams reality by constructing, a  well furnished Centre with technical materials such sewing machines and Gender Based Violence Centre to accommodate violated women and girls in Rabuor Village.

Programs Coordinator

Yvonne Awuor Okundi

Yvonne Awuor Okundi holds Bachelors of Arts – Sociology from Great Lakes University, and certificate in Psychology Counseling from University of Nairobi.  She is the founder and Programs Manager Centre For Health Rights Community Based Organization (CHRO).

Yvonne serves in different institutions serving as a Board Chair Kenya Female Advisory Organization (KEFEADO) a gender concern non-governmental organization, also Chairperson at JIU PACHI CBO an AIDS support organization providing strategic, accountable and committed leadership for the sustained voice and visibility, led by PLHIVs and affected communities, to offer a rights-based approach to community health and social transformation.  Yvonne is a board member of WESTERN KENYA LBQT FEMINIST FORUM organization a womxn rights and womxn led youth organization that centres on inter-sectional feminism at the core of advocacy.  Yvonne is a member of the Kenya Coordinating Mechanism, Consortium a Civil society organization constituency amplifying for Global Fund HIV and TB grants, a member of WKLF a space for engaging LBQ and ITGNC persons to have voice, agency and expression.

Public Relations

Nancy Okuta

Nancy Okutah is a blogger, writer and content creator for her personal website www.nancyokutah.co.ke. She is passionate about community service and giving back to society and is a member of the Rotaract Club of Kisumu and Lions Club Kisumu. In championing and campaigning for human rights, Nancy uses her online network to fundraise school fees for needy students, medical funds for patients and mobilization of resources for vulnerable members of society.

Nancy is also a founding member, public relations and marketing director for Koko Media, a digital marketing firm in western Kenya that has worked with brands such as Acacia, Prinias, Balance Park Hotels, Ferre Gola, Werrason and other fundraising projects for individuals and organizations in Kenya.

Communication and publisher

Monica Guya

Monica Guya is a sociologist, journalist, and blogger with a heart for communal issues. Through her blog www.ogonji.com, she has worked on mental and environmental issues in a bid to create awareness and mitigate the stigma meted towards mentally ill persons. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Economics from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Diploma in Journalism from Maseno University. Monica has work experience in both the media and the non-profit world. During her free time, she loves to recuse herself and read and spends time with Shaka and Droopy, her two dogs.

Finance

Harriet Atieno

Harriet Atieno holds a Master’s degree in Applied statistics and a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Engineering from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She is the programs coordinator of Nereah Amondi Oketch Foundation. Harriet works with the county Government of Homa-bay as an Economist and also as a statistician in the budget office under the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. Harriet is the sustainable development goals champion in the Homabay County with bias towards gender equality and climate change. In NAO foundation as a programs coordinator I am in charge of the mentorship sections and women empowerment in matters entrepreneurship and education all aimed at achieving economic sustainability of the economy.

Gaveth Pitterson

Gaveth Pitterson is an Author and Certified Health/Wellness & Longevity Coach for over fourteen years. With a career in banking of over 20 years. As a Coach she helps clients to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight. Feel more energized. Prevent, control and reverse health conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes. She’s dedicated to helping her clients to reclaim their health, wellness and vitality and live a healthy, active, and fulfilling lifestyle. She is Passionate about helping people and serving her community and believes it is her mission to give back to society. She is the Co0rdinator of her Church’s Food Pantry and volunteers at various events and organizations.  Social media links

Cynthia Atieno

Cynthia Atieno Otieno holds Bachelor of Arts- Social Work from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. Cynthia has served in different institutions as an intern and a volunteer. She served as a volunteer at Maisha Orphans and Widows, a community based organization in kolwa, providing mentorship, guidance and counseling services and also empowering women through women empowerment programs and youths through youth programs. Cynthia worked as an intern at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, where she was involved in activities in various units of medical social work such as psychosocial assessment, linking up destitute patients with relevant departments. She has attended several seminars on HIV prevention life skills of healthy choices. Through this, she has been able to create awareness on HIV/AIDS and education the youth more about it.

Monitoring and evaluation

Kenneth Mbogah

Kenneth Mbogah is a result driven professional with aspiring progressive career, having demonstrated the ability to prioritize assignments and make effective decisions. His career began back in 2008 as a volunteer with IMPACT RESEARCH & Development Organization as a Data Entry clerk which provided him with a platform to grow and join and serve in a higher capacity, in both KEMRI CDC and Nyanza Reproductive Health Society respectively. Together with a certificate in Project Management from the University of Washington, Kenneth holds a diploma in Linux Engineering and IT Application and a Certificate in Information Technology from the Kenya Polytechnic University College and a Certification in Monitoring and Evaluation.
